DRep.ID is a name resolution standard for Cardano DReps: a minted name that resolves to a DRep key through the ledger, with no dependency on DRep.ID's own services.

What is DRep.ID?

DRep.ID is an NFT standard that gives a DRep key a custom name. The name resolves to the DRep's key through Cardano's ledger state.

The names are minted as assets under a known policy. Once minted, the DRep behind a name can be resolved from the chain alone — no call to DRep.ID is involved, and nothing breaks if this site is unavailable.

DRep.ID also hosts the DRep's published information and gives them a short link to share, so a delegator can go from a name straight to delegating.
